Preview: Noise for Toys with Palehound, Coaches, Worms, and Chandos

Hey, guess what? Nope, that’s not it. You’re going toy shopping.

Tuesday at T.T.’s in Cambridge, a bunch of awesome local bands are putting on a concert for you, and they’re calling it Noise For Toys. You could of course pay $10 at the door and just enjoy an amazing local rock music lineup. Or you could get in by handing over an unwrapped toy to Toys for Tots at the door.  This is being put on by the Ash Gray Proclamation and the Clicky Click Music Blog.  We’re big fans of music blogs.

Coaches don’t have a whole lot of music up on the internet, but “amisarewaswere” will give you a super refreshing Teenage-Fanclub-meets-post-rock sound to get you excited for the show.  Check that out, please.  And guess what?  They were really involved in getting this whole thing put on, so show them some love!

If there were any doubt about the Noise in the title, Worms have got you covered.  It’s a sludge-scream-punk trio who occasionally, almost accidentally, break into some nice music before tearing it up again.

Allston’s Chandeliers are playing too.  Lo-fi pop rock for your face, click ’em up.

And Palehound. You know Palehound. You don’t know Palehound? Super sweet poppy local indie-rock?  Oh, sorry I thought you said you didn’t.

The show starts at 8, and there’s not a band in this lineup you should miss, so do yourself and a toyless child a favor and get there at 8.  If you can’t make it toy shopping because you’re an adult and you’re busy counting your 401k or driving a truck or something, click over here to buy an advance ticket.
