PREVIEW: Wild Child & The Wild Reeds at The Sinclair

Wild Child charge through week two of their almost eight-week tour in direct support of 2018’s Expectations as they head into Thursday night’s sold out show at The Sinclair with The Wild Reeds.

Having recently grown into a group of seven musicians, Wild Child revolves around vocalists Kelsey Wilson and Alexander Beggins. Still riding the waves from their debut album Pillowtalk, Wild Child decided to take an unconventional route with their latest offering. Expectations stands out for its “buffet style” recording process, as the brand traveled far and wide, racking up as many notable producers they could, such as Chris Walla, Scott Micken and Chris Boosahda. The result is a collection of genre and generation blending songs that go to show that there’s no right or wrong way to approach recording a record.

A quick peek at their most recent setlist shows promise for a healthy smattering of their four album catalog, with a deeper dive, and proper unveiling of Expectations. So while the setlist is all but “set,” one thing fans can be sure of is that plenty of expectations will be shattered on Thursday night.
