A Raise Of The Glass For Mike Caulo

Boston’s music scene is unlike any other for many reasons. Fortunately or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it, one of the things that characterizes our creative community is both its segmentation and its transience. Different pockets and neighborhoods provide for different tight-knit scenes, and due to it’s young, student-driven population, people and bands are constantly coming and going.

There are certain folks within Boston’s music landscape, however, that are true helpers. Sometimes these people are in bands, often times they are not. Mike Caulo, who has hid behind the moniker Sippy Cup Everything, is one of these people. Mike is a true do’er of things. He has written about bands, helped grease the wheels by booking tours for young local acts, put together countless bills for artists that might not otherwise get the opportunity, and has always done such labor truly out of love. In Allston, Mike has seen these musicians come and go, some with achieved musical success, others with a handful of musical memories to their name. But it has never stopped him from assisting those who need it the most: the young ones, the broke ones, or even just the cluelessly talented types.

Just like many before him, Mike now leaves Allston to pursue new opportunities in the world of music. We here at Allston Pudding wish him the best in his new adventure, as we too have received countless bits of advice, and a whole lot of kind gestures from Mr. Caulo. We’re not alone though. Chances are that if you’ve been in an Allston band in the past few years, at one point or another, Mike has helped you out too. He is a particularly friendly adhesive for a city that can sometimes feel a bit unglued. So to Mike, was raise our PBR talls, and bid you the most excellent of journeys henceforth!
