Ben Katzman is far from a stranger to the Boston music scene. Katzman is not only one of the masterminds behind BUFU Records, but he also is a well known rocker who brings the heat with his band Acidosis. It doesn’t end there- Katzman is working on another project that doesn’t disappoint. After releasing “DeGreaser” a few months ago, he’s taking the show on he road and playing a number of upcoming gigs. “DeGreaser” is a Lo-Fi  Rock and Roll treasure for sure, and we’re excited to see it live. Check the album out now over here on on Bandcamp, and take a look at the show listings bellow to see Ben Katzman shred it out in person with some of his very talented pals. Ben gave us a few minutes of his time to chat about some pressing issues, like  John Travolta and Boba tea.

AP: How does this project feel different from your other band, Acidosis?

BK: Umm, its the same thing except instead of singing about the end of mankind and the fall of civilization, I’m singing about chillin hard w/ babes, and chris collins.
If anything the main difference between this band and acidosis is acidosis is way more like KISS alive 2 and this is way more like KISS alive 1.

AP: You’re all about chillin’ mad hard. How does a person learn to chill as hard as you?

BK: To be honest I haven’t chilled hard in a minute. i’ve been a bit too high strung lately. it’s probably because i’ve dropped van halen, and oreos from my diet. I think i’m going to reintroduce those bad boiz to my food pyramid along with boba tea. did you know that there is hot boba tea now? i’m so stoked.

AP: What can we expect from upcoming live shows?

BK: flashpots, smokebombs, laser lights, spoken word poetry shred, tight jeans, my name in a bright sign w/ flashing lights behind the stage, and a guitar that shoots rockets.

AP: What show/Place are you most excited to play?

BK: I’m stoked 4 all of ’em. I’m stoked to shred alongside my bestie bffl Andrew Baldizon, Ma bad boi Jim Leonard, Ma Bad Gurl Izzy Latarola, and local superhero Chris Collins.
That show w/ Roz and the rice cakes is probably gonna shred. That show w/ the Memories and the Lentils is deff gona shred. I’m playing Art Basel in Miami this year. That’s deff gonna shred. Shout out to Audio Junkie for hooking that one up. Ooh and the BUFU holiday party is deff gonna b a shredfest. everyone better bring dates and dress up cuz its going to be tight.

AP: What’s your favorite thing about John Travolta?

BK: John travolta roks. he has a venus in pisces so you know theres some kinda bad boi sad boi complex there.

AP: What albums do you think you’ll be listening to as you travel to New York and Florida?

BK: That first Paul Stanley solo record, Morbid Angel ‘Blessed Are The Sick’ (sik), Billy Joel ‘The Stranger’, Gil Katzman ‘Moon in Bad Boi, Venus in Sad Boi’, West Side Story OST, The Ronettes ‘Be My Baby’,
