Stranger Cat, the psychedelic brain-child of Cat Martino, is currently working to fund its debut album via Pledge Music. With just six days left in their backing period  and 76 percent of their goal made, the duo (Sven Britt being numero dos) is offering up a host of electro-goodies for pledges, including a flexi disc featuring Martino’s collaboration track with Sufjan Stevens “Take the Time.”

The highly electronic track resembles the background tunes of an extremely tasteful video game. With its subtle dynamics and piecewise content, “Take the Time” captures a style similar to a more energetic version of Gayngs and unique from anything I’ve ever hear from Stevens. It’s awesome. However, for those who need a first-hand listen before backing their money, the track is streaming via Pitchfork for approximately 24 hours.

Other rewards for funding include an early download of Stranger Cat’s album, a download of Stranger Cat’s cover of Sia’s “Chandelier”, and future updates regarding tours and such.

My advice: “Take the Time” to go check it all out.
