This week has had some stellar news dropped in the metal world, and it’s only Wednesday. New releases from Electric Wizard and a mysterious newcomer Myrkur have not disappointed. On top of that, Maryland Deathfest’s first wave of performers have been announced, with names like Triptykon and Arcturus making the bill.  But probably the most exciting news is Fórn’s debut album The Departure of Consciousness is now streaming in full for the world to hear. This may be the Boston band’s first album, but it certainly does not come off as amateur. Fórn’s style has the strength of veterans; their songs are menacing, dirty, heavy, and pretty much everything you’d want out of a doom band.
