When we talked to Dan Deacon a few months ago, he said his next album was a fun but calm change-up from America. “I made it in the same way that I made Spiderman of the Rings, which was largely by myself,” he said. “I haven’t produced a record by myself in a long time. it was the most fun I had in a long time making a record. ” Lead single “Feel The Lightening” confirmed that sound. Now that we can hear the record in full, it’s clear what he meant by that. Gliss Riffer is one of his best works to date. Give it a listen yourself over at NPR.

Who isn’t mad about all this snow? Now you can get the angst out in a peaceful way. Screaming Females are back with a brand new album that’s full of heated anger. Rose Mountain is the band’s sixth album and, as such, their most polished. That doesn’t stop it from lashing out pure hard rock and lively punk guitar solos. “Empty Head” gave us a taste of what’s to come, but it’s just one off several bone-shaking tracks on the record.
