In what seems to be one of the first of the forthcoming deluge of special-edition hidden-gem Record Store Day releases, The Thermals are releasing music from their pre-Thermals days as Hutch and Kathy. Hutch and Kathy, unlike Hutch Harris and Kathy Foster of aforementioned band The Thermals, tended toward folkier instrumentation and popwardly leaning song structures — there’s an even a harmonica or two in there somewhere.
