Stop scrounging the depths of the series of tubes and get off your TV, because we’ve got some of the best new tracks of the week here for you at Allston Pudding featuring Ava Luna, Frankie Cosmos, Real Estate, Mac DeMarco, Chelsea Wolfe/King Dude, and Your Friend.

Ava Luna, “PRPL”

“PRPL” takes a step back from the chaos of the previously released track “Daydream” off their upcoming LP Electric Balloon. It’s a soulful slow jam that brings the alternating vocals to the forefront and let’s the instruments take a break a bit. It’s reminiscent of ’90s pop-R&B but brings it very much in the present with its subtleties of noise and feedback.

Frankie Cosmos, “My I Love You”

Allston Pudding <3s Frankie Cosmos, and Zentropy is one of our most anticipated albums of 2014. It’s out very very soon (thank Yeezus), and Interview Magazine did a wonderful interview with Greta Kline and premiered the newest track off Zentropy, “My I Love You.” Like most Frankie Cosmos songs, it’s short, sweet, and to the point with cleverness sprinkled around. Listen to the track here.

Your Friend, “Tame One”

Your Friend is the moniker of Taryn Blake Miller, and she plays some of the most beautiful tunes. Her new EP Jekyl/Hyde will be out April 8th on Domino Records, and “Tame One” is the first premiered track off of it. It shows off the more fleshed out sound of the EP compared to her stripped down live performances. You can pre-order Jekyl/Hyde here.

Real Estate, “Crime”

What better way to premiere a new song from your upcoming album than a video that shows you how to play it on guitar? I guess that works. Real Estate is always keeping it fresh and smooth, and they are doing that again with “Crime” and its video. It will probably take several loops of it, but we hope someone eventually gets it. Feel free to share if you do!

Chelsea Wolfe/King Dude, “Be Free”

The folk noir of Chelsea Wolfe leans more to the folk side in this collaboration with King Dude. The incessant strumming pairs well with the pain expressed through the lyrics. It hurts, but it hurts so good. “Be Free” is off of an uncoming 7″ to be released from the pair.

Mac DeMarco, “Let My Baby Stay”

Strong evidence and just a good ‘ol gut feeling tells us that Mac DeMarco’s new album, Salad Days, is going to be so good that it hurts. Feel the hurt and the love when Mac plays the tune “Let My Baby Stay” in Portugal. He even sometimes performs on a treadmill. I’ve been on a treadmill a few times in my life, and that seems really difficult.
