In an almost two hour long long Google hangout ‘live’ press conference, frontman Patrick Stickles of Titus Andronicus announced that they will be releasing seven new records starting in seven week increments, beginning on July 7th. The first record they will be releasing is a reissue of their first record “Titus Andronicus” b/w “Fear And Loathing In Mahwah, New Jersey”. This record will also include a bonus disc with material from 2005, featuring ‘Arms Against Atrophy’ with a b-side of ‘Talking Oral Fixation Blues.’
Other records in the series will be split 7″ with their peers and will feature new Titus songs on the a-side. The first song they are releasing is “Stranded (On My Own)” which you can listen to below:
Subscriptions are available in an edition of 400 and available now on their webstore. Additionally, there will be a launch party July 7th at 7pm (notice a theme here?) at Shea Stadium in Brooklyn. Tickets are available here . Attendees will receive a free copy of the first 7″ in the series with purchase the ticket. Pretty sweet deal.
Watch Patrick Stickles smoke cigarettes, talk album art, and explain the significance of the number 7 to the band (spoiler alert: they’ve released seven 7″ records in seven years, and the new 7″ is out on 7/7/14) in the two hour long conference below:
