Canadian indie rockers Viet Cong will release their anticipated self-titled LP January 2015 off  Jagjaguwar records. The self-described “labyrinth post-punk” four-piece is the newest project from half of Women; namely, the work of bassist Matt Flegel and drummer Mike Wallace . But don’t their musical past sway your take on their present. Where Women played with somewhat lacking harmony and darker themes, Viet Cong opens up a bit more, tending more toward the immediate.

Viet Cong will be embarking on a tour in support of this upcoming album, including a handful of North American dates and two weeks in the UK and Europe — in addition to their upcoming European visit this fall.  Take a listen to”Continental Shelf” below, a head bobbing tune riddled with lo-fi attitude and bellowing vocals.
