Today, Caribou‘s brand new album, Our Love, drops after a four year gap in new music from the electronic group. The title-track off the album is a six-minute sprawling of club bass and pointed strings (provided by Owen Pallett) that sees Dan Snaith making a triumphant return to the spotlight. Today, that single gets a beautiful music video that reflects on the process of aging.
Directed by Ryan Staake of Pomp & Clout, the video follows an elder woman as she descends through her house, garden, and backyard at the Lough Ine House in Ireland, ultimately reminiscing on her love with her husband. In a press release, Staake said he wanted to create “a slow, brooding film that contrasted the seeming limitless of youth with the reality of death in later years.” That he did.
