WATCH: Leopard Print Taser

Leopard Print Taser had just two songs left in their set when Leila Bower peeled off her stylishly thick-rimmed glasses and casually tossed them to the edge of the stage at O’Brien’s. With the proverbial gloves off, she was free to thrash uninhibited as the band tore into songs from their latest EP Teeth Are Not Bones.  Teeth finds LPT crafting a darker, more aggressive sound than previous efforts that is well suited for the EP’s lyrical themes, which include abusive relationships, male privilege, and the micro aggressions and casual misogyny that runs deep in our culture.

Guitarist Nick Wolf and drummer Reid Calkin (who previously played together in the defunct hardcore band Lunglust) seem right at home with the heavier sound, while Bower sneers, howls, and tears up the stage like a natural born punk singer.  Bassist Shannon Donahue’s sharp tone and econo bass lines hold the chaos together like atomic glue. It’s hard to believe that Leopard Print Taser is both Donahue and Bower’s first live performing band, and it wouldn’t even be worth mentioning if it wasn’t so damn inspiring.

For this video session we’ve selected three of the most explosive performances from their set at O’Brien’s back in March. Click that play button and watch them rip!
