Allston Pudding is pleased to present a series of videos captured live from this year’s Thing in the Spring in Peterborough, New Hampshire. These videos come to us from the newly established Pony Problems Productions, a video production house launched from the Western Mass-based record label TinyRadars.
This is the second week of this video series and this time we’re pleased to bring you a rare acoustic performance of “Song You Haven’t Heard” from Eric Gagne, the songwriter behind Passerine. Gagne, who is a co-creator of Thing in the Spring previously played with bands such as Death to Tyrants, Redwing Blackbird, and Dweller on the Threshold. Now, as Passernine, he finds sweet acoustic melodies while not fully ditching his punk sensibility. In this particular tune, high-necked chords complement a mature range of falsetto s rain sprinkles overhead. There’s something particularly cozy about this video, but I’m not convinced it’s strictly due to the ambiance. Gagne’s fingerpicking and modest croons add a carefree vibe, heightened by the fact that it is called “Song You Haven’t Heard.” Check out Passerine on bandcamp, or live as they are based out of Peterborough and gig around New England a lot.
Check back next week for another video!
