So, for all those who were too busy with fun, post-NYE, “oh man I should be doing something with this brand spankin’ new 2015” plans, which I hope included our fantastic show featuring Emperor X, Babydriver and more at Great Scott last night, here’s some of the things what you might have missed in the ol’ music news this past weekend:

  • So, Death Grips is somehow still releasing new albums from the dead. They released an instrumental album called Fashion Week, which you can get your hands on for free here. Zombie Death Grips doesn’t sound too bad for a decrepit corpse. Or are they?
  • Mac DeMarco’s old shoes sold for $21,100 dollars on eBay. Let that just sink in for a bit. Yeahhhhhh. (But yayyyyy for charity.)
  • The Black Keys’ Patrick Carney dislocated his shoulder surfing in the middle of winter. Yeahhhhhh.
  • Jens Lekman made a New Year’s resolution to release one new song every week for all of 2015. The first one you can listen to here. Yayyyyyyy.

Now, here’s to hoping the rest of the week has equally awe-inspiring and awww-inspiring moments.
