On November 16, Providence Rhode Island’s The Low Anthem helped host a second annual “Revival!” benefit concert for the city’s Columbus Theatre. Bands included The Felice Brothers, Happiness (members of Deer Tick and Ravi Shavi), Roz and the Rice Cakes, Anais Mitchell, Arc Iris (former Low Anthem musician Jocie Adams), and Pixels (fronted by new Low Anthem member Andy Davis).
On the verge of their upcoming fourth studio album, The Low Anthem now operates a studio in the upstairs of the venue, as well as a label/collective, the Columbus Recording Company, that distributes local artists’ music to 20-some vendors around Providence.
Future acts at the Columbus Theatre include Bombino, Black Pus and XYLOURIS WHITE (Jim White of The Dirty Three with George Xylouris), Mother Falcon, and Charles Bradley. There are rumblings of an upcoming Low Anthem Boston concert, detailed to be announced.
