Karen O,  the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s frontwoman and recent Oscar nominee/one of the many reasons you cried during Her, has announced the details of her first solo album. Made up of privately recorded lo-fi ballads written around ’06-’07, Crush Songs will tread similar ground to “Moon Song” which you really might as well listen to again this afternoon.

“When I was 27, I crushed a lot,” says Karen of the album. “I wasn’t sure I’d ever fall in love again. These songs were written and recorded in private around this time. They were the soundtrack to what was an ever continuing love crusade. I hope they keep you company on yours.”
