New Twerps Album Streaming

The only thing more endearing than an Australian “janky pop” band named Twerps, is the sort of lo-fi album the variety can produce after a long hiatus. With that said, the wait is over.

Melbourne-bourne (heh…okay) Twerps are streaming their latest work Range Anxiety over at Hype Machine this week. The LP is out January 27th and available for preorder, with a third fact being that it’s worth an immediate listen from both fans of the upbeat and fans of the not-so-much.

Warm but repetitively honest, Range Anxiety gives the phrase “easy listening” a whole new color. Straightforward tracks like “Love at First Sight” and “Back to You” lay a foundation of approachable topics: love, not love, and definitely not love. But in the mix, Twerps lyrically address less touched territory too. The closing track “Empty Road” is as relatable as the album’s title, using the blurred example of cross-fading oneself to represent all other tactics of “getting away” for leisure. It sounds like a lot because it is a lot.

Or maybe that’s just my interpretation. So, if for anything, check it out for verification purposes.
