In case your Monday’s lacking in the joy department, Lady Lamb the Beekeeper just put her new album After up for advance stream on Rolling Stone. Its effects are nothing short of petting a dog on the sidewalk, finding a dollar in your pocket or…man-handling pie. And for that, we’re pretty grateful.
The brainchild of singer/songwriter Aly Spaltro, Lady Lamb is folk rock at its compositional best. What her 2013 LP Ripley Pine carries in it’s instrumental weight is perfectly elevated to a light air of just enough strums in After. There’s less to follow in this one, making it easier to skip behind Spaltro into your wheat-field-of-choice without getting lost.
After is out March 3rd on Mom+Pop Music, and don’t miss Lady Lamb at The Sinclair March 7th!
