Marty Walsh has declared April 9th Riot Grrrl Day as Boston.com points out. The announcement was made in honor of Kathleen Hanna’s upcoming performance at the Wilbur on the same day. The Bikini Kill/Le Tigre/Julie Ruin frontwoman will be presented with the proclamation by Boston’s chief of police Joyce Linehan, who has known Hanna since she used to crash on her couch whenever she came through town on tour close to two decades ago.
