It’s been a few years now that Converse’s Rubber Tracks concert series has been bringing great music to Boston. Through a simple RSVP system, the shoe company has enabled fans to catch amazing acts at the Sinclair, arguably the best venue in town, for the low price of free, kindling interest in their brand while spicing up the local music scene. But damn, have they outdone themselves this time.
Rubber Tracks will be putting on a five night residency at the Sinclair from April 27 through May 1. While the series has been known for the acts it manages to pull, they’re soaring to new heights this time, booking festival headliner-level talent that you’d normally never have the chance at seeing at a venue this size. Throughout the week, fans will be able to catch The Replacements, Passion Pit, Slayer, Chance the Rapper and Descendents. In addition, the residency will feature opening sets from Dinosaur Jr., Baths, Doomriders, Action Bronson and King Tuff, acts all certainly established enough to headline Sinclair by themselves. This is a seriously incredible concert series.
In the interest of keeping chance at attendance fair, tickets will be distributed through a lottery system. Monday, 4/20, at noon, you will be able to register here for a chance to go to your two choice shows. Entrants will be accepted until noon Wednesday, 4/23, after which Converse will begin notifying winners. In other words, don’t sleep on this.
