Last Saturday night, five bands from around New England came out to Makeout Point to put on a show, in spite of the less than pleasant snowy weather. The bill featured a mix of solo sets, classic rock, and high energy punk performances.
Local acts Lydia Deetz and Long Gone kicked off the night, with Long Gone playing their first gig in two years. Lydia Deetz’s stripped down solo set encompassed a mix of original songs and two covers, including one by the Distillers. The trio from Long Gone didn’t disappoint, showing off their classic rock style in an all around tight performance. The night’s two heavier groups, Gash and Space Camp, both played short, fast, and loud punk performances. Space Camp’s opening song, “Space Camp Face Tattoo,” featured Lady Queen Paradise, the night’s final act. Lady Queen Paradise’s performance marked a shift to a softer and emotionally denser set, making it the perfect way to end the night.
