Seattle’s extremely colorful and always energetic four piece Tacocat stopped at The Sinclair last week in celebration of their new record, This Mess is a Place. They were joined by Somerville dream punks Leopard Print Taser, and touring partner Sammi Lanzetta.

Leopard Print Taser started the night off strong. Known for their high energy live shows, the local four piece delivered on that reputation, as vocalist Leila Bower left the stage and hopped onto one of the venue’s bars. Their set featured two unreleased songs, as well as the live debut of bassist Shannon Donahue’s backup vocals. Second up was Sammi Lanzetta, whose powerful stage presence and captivating vocal performance of songs including newly released track, “Titty Logic,” made for an equally great experience from beginning to end.

Closing out the night, Tacocat made it hard for folks in attendance not to dance along, as they played songs from This Mess is a Place throughout the set. Standout tracks included “Grains of Salt,” with its reminder “Don’t forget to remember who the fuck you are,” as well as popular songs from older releases like “Crimson Wave,” performed under all red stage lighting. The band retook the stage at the end of the night to play a two song encore, closing things out with “Hey Girl.”
