Somerville DIY heroes Fortuna 500 are back with a new single that comes with a cinematic video. It’s called “Lemon Man” and it’s the final single from the group’s upcoming debut LP Two For Flinching.
In the clip—directed by Fortuna singer Cole Triedman and photographers Lizzy McEleney and Zoe Hopper—a weary shopper (School’s Colin McLevy) browses the supermarket oil aisle before stopping by a dinner party hosted by the treacherous Lemon Man. As his malicious influence spreads, the Tuna boys get pelted with citrus projectiles and perform in an ominously lit living room.
The Lemon Man himself is portrayed by sidebody’s Lena Warnke dressed in leather gloves, a sherbet-blue suit, and a massive papier mache lemon head created by Eli Bondar.
Of the song, Triedman said it “came to me on a sleepless night. A rush, all at once. It was the worst night of my life.
The music comes as a capper to a busy spring for Team Tuna, who are fresh off organizing and performing at the second annual Someday Festival.
Two for Flinching comes out August 21. Watch the video below.
