Though experimental music is a boundlessly broad category, Boston’s interpretation often takes local hallmarks to extremes: the noodliest, noisiest, and most volatile sounds result. Bent Knee stems from somewhere else entirely. As established in 2011’s self-titled album and 2014’s Shiny-Eyed Babies, the homegrown outfit’s experimental approach instead spirals out from pop sensibilities, weaving in cartwheeling Baroque and rock-edged arrangements. Today, the band announced its next installment, Say So, out May 20th via new label Cuneiform.
