On Tuesday, June 9th at 8 PM, tune into All In For Chelsea, a live-streamed performance featuring over a dozen Boston Musicians, including Will Dailey, Chadwick Stokes, Oompa, Cliff Notez, Tanya Donelly, Dwight and Nicole, Adam Ezra, Alisa Amador, Aubrey Haddard, Dutch Rebelle, and other special guests. The event will raise money for the One Chelsea Fund to provide COVID-19 relief to the city, which is one of the hardest hit communities in the country. The event will stream on the Calling All Crows Facebook page.
Essential workers make up nearly 80% of Chelsea’s workforce, exacerbating the effects of COVID-19. Chelsea has seen infection rates more than 10 times the average for Massachusetts. “The people that do all the work and actually make the country run are the ones that suffer first and that pisses me off eternally.” Organizer Will Dailey told Allston Pudding. The One Chelsea Fund will directly help families pay for rent, food, and medicine.
“Low income communities such as Chelsea have been disproportionately impacted by this virus; emotionally, physically, and mentally. Residents are now facing eviction, unemployment, and food insecurity,” Kelly Garcia, Vice Chairwoman, Chelsea School Committee said in a press release. “The sad and harsh reality of all of this is that this pandemic has exacerbated the inequities that our students and families have faced for decades.”
In addition to performances by local artists, the event will also feature interviews with first responders and essential workers from Green Roots, The Chelsea Collaborative, The Neighborhood Developers, and United Way, shining a light on the impact COVID-19 has had on the community.
All In For Chelsea is a collaborative project between Dailey and Calling All Crows, a nonprofit social activist organization founded by Chadwick Stokes and his partner Sybil Gallagher focused on mobilizing musicians and activists for social change.
