On Sunday June 14th, Deep Cuts in Medford hosted a one-of-a-kind show: Brittany Rose Queen’s Birthday Bash. The celebration of the two-time Boston Music Awards Live Music Photographer of the Year was a concentration of Massachusetts punk scene veterans, organized and headlined by Rebuilder.

The early evening shindig featured four performances. Oh The Humanity! opened with a break-neck, high-tempo set to jumpstart the show. The one non-local outlier of the lineup, Smug LLC was next with a fist-pumping solo set that hopped through some early technical delays with the backing visuals. Silent Drive followed with a thrashing, headbanging post-hardcore performance. Rebuilder closed out the night with a loud, fast, and fun headlining set befitting a milestone birthday party.

Throughout the show, each artist in turn honored the Queen of the day herself, who was right up front with her camera, working during her own tribute concert for the pure love of the game. More than just another show, Brittany’s birthday bash was a reminder of the wonderfully close-knit nature of Boston’s music community.
