On June 19, Dino Gala brought the release tour for their debut album Ronny Music to a close with style. The group curated a roster of fellow Boston-based bands for a hometown show highlighting some of the city’s best indie rock.
Gollylagging led the lineup with their opening set. Stopping to banter, they could have highlighted the fact that they were celebrating the recent release of their new single “Jacknife,” but they opted instead to give a shoutout to the nearby restaurant Coreanos. They were followed by warmachine, who got straight to business with their darker, heavier tone. Up third was Clifford, who acknowledged the excellent lineup: “This is so exciting to be here. It’s like local legends!”
By the time Dino Gala went up on stage the crowd was fully primed for their set. The headline performance had the audience roiling with excitement. Not to be outdone by Gollylagging, Dino Gala dedicated a surprising amount of time to chatting with the audience about the Allston food scene. That said, Ronny Music was the centerpiece of the show and the band played the new album front to back. The show concluded with a genuinely unplanned encore by raucous crowd demand, and on that high note, so ended the Ronny Music album release tour.
