Pianist DOMi and drummer JD Beck have both been accumulating a buzz and growing fanbase. Their musicianship and unique play styles have attracted fans of both traditional jazz and people into weird contemporary genre fusion music. Without a full length album even released, the two attracted a sold out crowd to Berklee’s Cafe 939, with fans lined up well before doors would open, ready to pack into the tiny space. The duo sat down and played for nearly an hour straight. Their set included some songs from their yet to be released LP, their rendition of “Giant Steps,” and a track that they made in collaboration with bassist MonoNeon. After about an hour, the duo walked off stage, only to return moments later to close the night with an encore performance.
