In their endless quest for groove in the modern day, the men of Gardens & Villa are relentless. With that said, the Santa-Barbara-born five-piece’s track “Dominoe,” off 2014’s Dunes, already induces the smooth bounce of casual dancing in a velvet suit coat. It satisfies. Isn’t that enough?
Apparently not. To the great fortune of fans (and really anyone with stable wifi), the group isn’t capping off there. It’s new “Dominoe” remix, produced by the legendary N.O. Joe, stands as proof that groovier is always an option.
Through a combination of a catchy starting track and skillful production, Gardens & Villa’s remix serves a whole lot of justice to an already fair listen. The remixed track spotlights heavy bass while adding in slick verses from Houston rapper Spuf Don. Original flute and synth ornamentation also take a backseat for once, adding variety to the pop-rock group’s list of associated songs.
