Flowers may not be blooming yet but new albums are sprouting up every which way (corny enough for ya?). By the end of 2014 we may be #blessed to be holding new records from the likes of Jack White, Parquet Courts, AND Radiohead. #blessed
Parquet Courts announced details of a new album, Sunbathing Animal, that is scheduled to drop on June 2. Summer seems a far way away but that’s why the band will be releasing the single as a part of this month’s Record Store Day (Apr. 19) which will come with a B-side off of Pilgrims To Nowhere on 7-inch vinyl.
Anybody headed to Governors Ball this summer? Come find me, let’s be friends! Jack White announced a follow up to his debut solo endeavor, 2012’s Blunderbuss. This sophomore solo release, Lazaretto, is due out on June 10 via Third Man Records. You know what this means? His headlining slot at Governors Ball is practically an album release gig. Check out a preview of the new material, “High Ball Stepper” below:
Now get this — Jonny Greenwood told Nashville Cream in a recent interview that the band is “meeting up at the end of the summer, and we’ll make a plan. But, you know, we’re a slow-moving animal, always have been. I guess we’ll decide then what we do next.” I’ll take it! Radiohead‘s got a ninth studio album in the works. That, for me, is enough to make today feel pretty great.
Happy Tuesday.
