Uniting sunny, jangly pop with gritty garage rock, Mikal Cronin has been producing his signature sound for several years now. Just last week, his album MCII was released. In the past, having begun his career collaborating with California grunge king Ty Segall, Cronin boasted a fuzzier lo-fi quality to his sound. But MCII is quite the departure from that, distilling his sound into a beachier, more upbeat one, but not losing that rough garage sound along the way.
To accompany the release of his album, Mikal Cronin has announced a tour across the U.S. following a summer stint throughout Europe. Stopping at major cities on each coast and many along the way in between, you can catch him during the majority of the tour’s dates in September, including a stop at Great Scott on September 18th.
