Boston singer-songwriter and all around swoon-worthy gal Marissa Nadler put out a new album this year titled July. Today, she’s sharing the music video for “Firecrackers” off that album just in time for, yep, Independence Day. The video, directed by Ryan Hamilton Walsh of Hallelujah The Hills, follows Nadler as she unsmashes her guitar, splashes the water, and meanders around, all of which is captured on old grainy footage. As if the haunting ballad itself couldn’t lure you in, the video most definitely will. Check it out below.
We recently interviewed Marissa Nadler about why she’ll never cover Roy Orbison, what it’s like working as a teacher, and finding a balance between country folk and doom metal, too. Give it a read here.
