Chicago garage-dwellers Meat Wave release their sophomore EP Brother next week and are currently offering advance streaming over at Entertainment Weekly (which is EW but not entirely ew). Yup. All 17 glorious minutes of it.
And despite the three-year wait since the group’s self-titled debut, loyal fans of unapologetically heavy rock have no drastic changes to worry about. Brother seamlessly incorporates itself into the three-piece’s archive by way of everything that made us first turn our heads back in 2012: the title track “Brother” alone, Chris Sutter’s dynamically textured voice, and circulated chords that naturally convince the self to go ahead and throw eggs at your uptight neighbor’s house. It’s good for the plants anyway. With that said, I advise checking it out.
