At a time when collegiate youth culture embraces adidas sweatpants and comedic undertones to all things music, the time seems just right for a Swaggerdick tour. OG’s debut mixtape Game Boy Colored, released this summer, remains a local favorite with pent-up kiddos while still riding a wave of internet discovery. From the artist’s modest, mobile release party on MTBA transit to his awkwardly dead-pan videos, it’s safe to say that right now, he’s as likeable as it gets.

And that hilarious charm is infectious beyond there. In fact, I’m pretty sure I’ve made a handful of friends this year just by playing the oddball rapper’s anthem “Oh Gee” at parties, which has helped me realize that baked goods aren’t always necessary for social initiative.
