Last week, San Francisco rockers (Thee) Oh Sees played The Sinclair alongside Los Angeles experimental rock band Prettiest Eyes. The trio opened the show with attitude and panache, bringing a California punk sound with a twist of glitch and spaciness to the Boston venue. Their cutting synth and warm round bass complimented drummer Pachy García’s reverb drenched vocals. Jam packed into the sold out venue, the audience was seriously vibing by the time the explosive and dynamic performance came to a close, leaving them more than warmed up for the headlining act.
Oh Sees wasted no time kicking things off, going straight from a crazy and chaotic sound check into the real deal. A mosh pit broke out almost immediately, with all the usual head banging, shoving, and beer spilling you’d expect. Throughout the show, the band’s double drum setup thundered around the room, as guitars rang out with high energy and distortion, and an eclectic synth cut through the mix. Overall, the California lineup was well received by the beautifully diverse crowd, who left the venue satisfied with their heavy dose of psychedelic rock.
