From the second Phantogram walked on stage, it was an immersive experience. The band completely dominated the huge House of Blues stage last Friday night with their deep and powerful yet still electronic-influenced sound. Phantogram stunned fans with their brilliant light show as well. Performing behind a curtain for the first few songs, lead singer Sarah Barthel took command of the stage without even being seen. When the curtain came down during “Turning Into Stone”, it was almost impossible to take you eyes off of. Their set was a good mix of new and old hits including “Mouthful of Diamonds”, “When I’m Small” and, of course, “You Don’t Get Me High Anymore” during the encore. It was interesting to see such a mix of heavy dark ballads and upbeat pop-influenced songs, and it made it a diverse set keeping attention throughout. Phantogram without a doubt does a magnificent job bringing every emotion possible onto the stage.
