Last Tuesday, Beach Bunny stopped in Boston to play a sold out Great Scott. The night’s bill included locals Lady Pills and Lilith, as well as Beach Bunny’s touring partner, Field Medic.
While the room was full of excitement and anticipation for the show’s closer, each act had a number of devoted fans. Lady Pills and Lilith played for an enthusiastic hometown audience, and by the end of the night, they both picked up more than a few new fans. During Field Medic’s folky set, the crowd sang along as the band led them through a series of emotions, with songs including the seasonally appropriate, “Santa Made Me Do It.” Another highlight of the set was the performance of a still unreleased song, which had previously been debuted at Field Medic’s last show in Boston.
Beach Bunny’s headlining set featured an array of favorites that gave fans something to dance to, causing the floor of Great Scott to bounce up and down throughout the night. Frontwoman Lili Trifilio playfully encouraged fans to “throw some bows,” and asked the cheerful crowd for a mosh pit more than once. Their set included several tracks from their latest EP, Prom Queen, such as “Painkillers,” a surprise cover of Cyndi Lauper’s, “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun,” and closed out with their 2017 track, “Boys.”
