Last Wednesday, Brighton Music Hall was packed for Jorja Smith and Ama Lou as part of Jorja’s North American tour to promote her forthcoming debut album, Lost & Found. London native Ama Lou opened the show to a sold-out room, performing a unique mixture of rapping and singing. After a couple songs, she announced that it was her 20th birthday, and from there on she continued to amp up her performance until the end of the set. To wrap up, she pulled out an acoustic guitar and played a song she wrote when she was just 14-years-old, and the crowd was audience on every word. After Ama Lou, the crowd began chanting for Jorja Smith, who soon came on stage with her band. Once on stage, the drummer lit incense on his drum kit and the show began. Jorja charmed the audience with her English accent and moved around the stage in a Lana-Del-Rey-esque fashion. She mixed up the setlist with both new songs from Lost & Found and some from her EP, Project 11, resulting in an overall amazing performance.
Jorja Smith continues on tour this month, heading to Europe and Asia, and is releasing her debut album, Lost & Found, on June 8th.
