Last Wednesday, La Luz stopped at ONCE Somerville to celebrate the recent release of their latest album, Floating Features. Joining them were Rhode Island punks, GYMSHORTS, and Anna Fox Rochinski (of Quilt).

Normally a four piece, La Luz was down a member for the night, but still managed to win the crowd over with their surf rock vibes and by bringing many tracks from Floating Features to life. The beginning of the set featured a hefty dose of audience participation, such as when they asked the house to bring the lights up so that the crowd could compete in a highbrow/lowbrow dance competition, with prizes provided for the two winners. The night ended with the trio retaking the stage and topping things off with a multiple song encore.
