Cambridge quartet Guillermo Sexo have grown and evolved for almost ten years as a band, and on September 24th, they will celebrate their seventh release, a new LP entitled Dark Spring. Today, we’re happy today to introduce a track called “Fall Lens” from the album. Guillermo Sexo maintain that seemingly perfect balance of clean-edged garage rock and spacey psychedelic, packaged up in polished reverb-heavy romp. The duetted vocal dynamic on “Fall Lens” brings to mind other familiar locals like Mean Creek and Bent Shapes, but still remains signature with a bit of darkness mixed into on otherwise heavy but digestible tone. Don’t let the feel of one track fool you though. Dark Spring hits on very different levels, with the amps turned up on more noise-rocky tracks, and chilling echo ringing in on more acoustic tunes. Guillermo Sexo just finished up a fall tour with locals Ghost Box Orchestra and will celebrate the release of Dark Spring on September 29th at the Middle East with Marconi, who will be playing their last show ever, as well as Boogie Boy Metal Mouth and Doze. Be sure to check that out, and in the meantime, give a listen to “Fall Lens” for a little taste of new Guillermo Sexo.
