Brace yourself Boston, there’s a sick show coming through Zuzu at the Middle East tonight. With the weather lightening up, punks are slithering out of the damp frozen basements to bring you a show like no other. Ursula, The Channels, and New England Patriots are playing tonight and are ready to shake your brainstem a little short of staying solid. The whole thing is presented by Rad Castle.
What can even be said of Ursula? The local noise-punk duo hails straight out of the dank basements of Boston and you cannot afford to miss any show of theirs. They have an electrifying set, and it’s a killer take on the already solid punk scene happening in the city. Their music is fairly sparse for just guitar/vocalist and drums, but Ursula turn it into something all their own.
The Channels are an experimental rock outfit that had difficulty making their last show, but are now back to finally showcase their reinvention of art rock. They’re comprised of members from Aykroyd, Designer, and Guerilla Toss, if that gives you an idea of what they might be like. If you haven’t heard them yet, get their album Lo Fruit from their bandcamp. That’s the album art above. And if all that wasn’t sweet enough, New England Patriots are also in the mix, and they’re nothing but a good time. They enjoy playing their fuzzy punk on the floor with the crowd, and things gets scuzzy in ways that you’ll have to experience yourself.
It’s free, so if you’re 21 or up, there’s not really a reason to miss this. Doors at 10.
