Local production company giants The Brain Trust have worked their fingers to the bone the past three years to make sure that electronic and hip-hop music is alive and represented in our city. Transforming from a hybrid record-label/production company in their inception, The Brain Trust now takes on everything from event planning to marketing campaigns with LiveNation and RedBull, as well as having expanded their presence into New York’s music scene as well.
On Saturday, The Brain Trust is celebrating their third Birthday in a huge way at the Middle East Downstairs. The party will feature performances from Orchard Lounge, lespecial, GreyScale, and special guests in addition to an open taco bar and art installations from Cinder Block Hustle. Don’t sleep on the “special guests” portion of that announcement either, as I am sure you will be pleasantly surprised.
The Brain Trust has held it down for a community of artists, musicians, and fans in this city who otherwise probably wouldn’t have the chance to have such a strong presence. They’ve ensured that their niche and brand is consistent with what their audience is drawn to, and they continuously seem to one-up themselves. Don’t sleep on this party, and be sure to send these guys into the next few years with even more wind in their sails.
