It’s what you know, and you’ve known it the whole time!

North Irish indie rockers Two Door Cinema Club went on a victory lap to Boston’s MGM Music Hall at Fenway this fall, celebrating fifteen years of their beloved breakout debut Tourist History and bringing along friends Strfkr and Friendly Fires for the ride. The crowd was ready for a party, singing along to nearly every song including “This is the Life” and “Something Good can Work” while frontman Alex Trimble went into a little bit more about releasing the album or some of the track history in between songs. The band sounded as tight as ever, even as he and the crowd reminisced over a more nostalgic era.

Strfkr donned colorful wigs and had backup astronaut dancers take the stage, lighting up the venue for “Rawnald Gregory Erickson the Second.” Friendly Fires leapt clear over the heads of the crowd in unexpected acrobatic aplomb. Strfkr and Friendly Fires reinforced this backbone: we may not know where we’re headed, but at least we can jump around about it. Dance music remains the universal balm!
