Last week, Somerville sweetheart Kevin Patrick King (formerly of Maura) was invited to perform material from his new project Loom live on Good Morning Emerson. For those of us who are neither Emerson College students with TV access, nor awake and functioning at 9am, GME has been kind enough to share the videos of his recent on-air appearance.
Drawing heavily from life experience and his varied musical influence, Loom produces the kinds of somber singer-storytelling that fans of Bill Callahan, Sibylle Baier, Julie Diron and Mt. Eerie will find familiarity and comfort in.

King briefly discussed inspiration for the Loom album with GME anchor Madelyn Abry, before debuting the song, “You Are The Air,” as well as his newly released single “Now, You Are The Light.” The latter can be streamed and downloaded here.

Loom’s debut album, which King is currently recording, will be out on Disposable America early next year. Until then, hold yourself over with the first single and Kevin King’s latest full length solo album, The Still Life, released by DA earlier this year.
You can catch Loom at O’Brien’s Pub in Allston, MA TONIGHT with Tyler Daniel Bean, Oklahoma Car Crash and Old Wild Eyes on Tuesday, December 16th. RSVP: here.
