Catering to the head and heart as much as the ear, Elvis Depressedly provides more than a listen and less than a lecture. Anyone who’s lain back to the group’s melancholic discography before would agree, sigh and proceed to think about the passing of time in a healthy dosage. It’s an emotional commitment that many of us will be willing to take once again on May 12th with the release of full-length New Alhambra via Run for Cover Records.
So, in the video for upcoming album track “Thou Shall Not Murder,” director Micah Van Hove wastes no time targeting anything obvious. His footage follows a young boy in rewind through fields and back up sidewalks. Reversed, everything looks abstract, not only emphasizing the subject’s panic but building suspense for the video’s end.
With that said, give it a try below. ALSO, pre-order New Alhambra here.
