Connecticut indie/prog quintet Standby joined us at Studio 52 in Allston, MA to perform two songs off their upcoming record We Need More Mountains back in June.  Standby’s last musical release came out over 3 years ago, so hearing new songs from the band in such an intimate context in our session with them was exciting to say the least. 

 

These new songs mark a new chapter in the lives of the musicians and friends involved with the band.  They still call Danbury Connecticut home, but members have lived in Boston (where the drums for their upcoming record were recorded), and New York City since their last release.  “This release kinda feels like a debut-release, even though it’s not.  The record marks a big progression for us as a band, as friends, and just people growing up and we’re extremely proud and excited about it.”
