There are so many bands redefining what it means to write pop punk songs these days. At the forefront of this movement are bands within Don Giovanni Records like Waxahatchee and Tenement. Don Giovanni is celebrating its tenth year in 2013, and it just keeps getting better.
On October 29th, they will be releasing Worriers’ Cruel Optimist, headed by Lauren Denitzio, formerly of Measure. The title track has been out for a bit, but today, Don Giovanni premiered another track from the upcoming album, “Best Case Scenario.” “Best Case Scenario” mixes a rough lyrical style reminiscent of Carrie Brownstein with the perfect pop sensibilities of fellow artists in this current pop punk redesign like Waxahatchee, Swearin’, and Tenement.
