If you’ve been sleeping on self-aware Brooklyn punks Worriers, now would be the time to stop. After releasing EP Cruel Optimist in 2013 through Don Giovanni Records, the band has gone on to create a cohesive and super-catchy set of tunes in their debut full-length, Imaginary Life, now streaming over at NPR.
Singer/guitarist Lauren Denitzio ruminates thoughtfully over topics of privilege, prejudice, and activism over warm guitar fuzz filtered through the careful touch of producer and punk legend Laura Jane Grace of Against Me! (as if you needed more convincing).
Listen to the NPR stream below, and catch Worriers with Cayetana, Chumped, and Thin Lips at the Middle East on August 14.
