New Boston Music Startup Launches Called Bandframe

Yesterday was the big launch day for Bandframe.com, a new online home for bands, created by 3 Berklee grads. The site has a clean, magazine-style layout, and allows bands, artists, programs, and more to customize their own web space in a matter of minutes. Here are some features that the site offers, as they describe them:

·         A shift from traditional content management, BandFrame’s unique real-time Edit Mode allows you to see exactly how your published page will look to visitors while you’re in the process of creating it

·         Opportunity to try out PRO features without committing to a paid plan

·         Clean interface with powerful Theme Chooser makes it easy to create the perfect “look” – no web experience needed

·         Can change design as often as you’d like to match tour posters, album artwork, latest cover photo or mood

·         Cross-browser friendly with built-in SEO optimization for easy discovery

·         Standalone modules allow you to choose which features to display or keep hidden from public view

·         Direct third-party integrations with Facebook, Twitter and SoundCloud for real time access to content and streaming music

·         Link fans directly to Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Tumblr, Spotify and more

I haven’t personally tried the site yet (not in a band at the moment. Shredheads, get at me), but this seems like a cool alternative to whatever is leading the charge right now. Ever since Myspace changed a few years ago, I’ve always yearned for bands to all be in one place, and sorry JT, the New Myspace looks dope and all, but it’s not really spreading like wildfire. This one is made by three musicians, and looks like a really clean, really simple way to go. Might be worth checking out.
